Please be patient as we update and improve our site!  Estimated re-launch date: July 1, 2011

Welcome, and thank you for visiting the 69th North Carolina, Co. A!  We hope you will find our website interesting and knowledgeable.  Our desire is to welcome you into our ranks as we strive to accurately portray and re-live the life our Southern fathers and brothers who have come before us. As you look around, you will notice we strongly encourage family participation as many of us bring our wives and children to the events.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or email us!

Our unit of re-enactors and living historians was organized by Captain Jason "Country" Baller in 2003 and integrated into the First Battalion of Hardy's Florida Brigade.  Captain "Country" was promoted to Brigadier General Mike Hardy's staff at the beginning of the 2010 season and command of the 69th has been handed to 1st Lieutenant Mario Martinez (promotion pending).  We are located in Central and North Florida and participate in re-enactments and living history events in Georgia and Florida.

Although history does not record the participation of Thomas' Legion in Florida, it is our desire to portray and reflect the role played by Native Americans in the War Between the States.  Whether it was the Cherokee regiments in North Carolina, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, the Seminole participants in Florida, or the Iroquois in the Union Army, Native Americans bled and died for their adopted country as did countless immigrants from many of  the continents around the globe.  We can be easily identified on the battlefield by our knee-high leather moccasins.

Occasionally, duty calls upon us to lay aside our gray to don the uniform of the Federals.  While many red-blooded Southerners view this as treason to the South's memory, even the proudest of us Rebs understand we do this for the sake of history.  Our ancestors would not have us deny the chance to portray both sides of the story, and so we do so with honour.

We do not espouse nor condone any racist or discriminatory ideologies.  Instead, we welcome people of all ethnicity and colour to join our ranks and share in our telling of history as it really happened!

Take your time in looking around and we hope to see you at our next event!  On behalf of our Captain, thank you and God Bless!

We are actively recruiting new members on a constant basis!  If you are interested in joining the 69th North Carolina, Co. A, contact Sergeant John at  (501) 339-8753 or email recruitment@69NCA.com.
